Move-In Week: New year, new student experience

Corey Humphries, the new director of residence life at Charleston Southern University, promised a fresh approach to student life on campus starting this fall.

He couldn’t necessarily describe it in his own words when he was asked to explain so, after a brief pause, he did what any wise Christian would; he left it in God’s hands (and words) to explain.

“The best way I can explain it is Romans 12:2,” Humphries said.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2

“We are transforming student lives,” he added. “It is a student life department now, not just housing …”
