No respect

No one, and I mean no one, that includes media, oddsmakers and college football fans across the country believes the Charleston Southern University can play with the defending BCS national champion Florida Gators.

That may be true, but please, have a little respect for the University. The Los Angeles Times published a report (originally written by a sportswriter for the Orlando Sentinel), with a headline:

SOUTHERN CHARLESTON PLAYS DAVID TO FLORIDA’S GOLIATH

Southern Charleston? So, for the sake of accuracy, I scanned the CSU web site. No mention of Southern Charleston anywhere. I drove to the front of the University and looked at, not one, the two signs. Both read: CHARLESTON SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY.

Wouldn’t only seem fair that one of the largest newspapers in the country could get the name of the University correct?
