Almost the end of the year updates
Alright, we’ve had a good number of career fairs and our ‘Futurequest’ since my last update. Those went pretty well and we had a great turn out of students at those fairs. Also event though we did not have power thorughout most of the school on monday march 2nd, we still had the great support from the students coming out to our Education career fair.
Welcome to a new year with new activities
Along with the new year comes new opportunites for you to get a, or at least plan to get, a good job when you graduate from college. First up on our agenda is MUSC night for all you who want Health professions. It will be Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 6:30 till 8:30 in the Gold room which is located on the 2nd floor in the strom thurmond building. And a week later we will be hosting the “Exploring Majors and Careers Workshop” which will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 also in the Gold room. It will be held from 11:30 AM until 12:30pm, so that means get there as soon as you can so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to secure a job in a shaky economy. You can register for the workshop by calling (843) 863-8019 (Nicole Copland).
The part-time/volunteer job fair
Hello CSU students, recently we had a part-time / volunteer job fair in the Brewer Center. We had many businesses there, some large businesses and some locally established. There was a great variety for students who didn’t have on campus jobs to come somewhere to find a job around the North Charleston area to work and earn some extra money while in school. The opportunities presented there were great, but the number of students that arrived to check it out was not too great. We are looking to provide the CSU students with a chance to find a job around school that hopefully relates to their major so they can get experience in the field they plan to enter into. We want more students to come out and see what kind of job opportunities these companies offer to us.
