Charleston Southern University is hosting a Saturday Visit for prospective students on April 20 (RSVP here). Visiting a college campus should be fun and informative. During the 2012-2013 academic year the Christian Leadership Council will sponsor informal Bible studies for all CSU faculty and staff, as well as the local community. The studies, which will be led by the CSU Religion Department faculty, will take place in the Gold Room on Wednesdays from 12:00-12:50 p.m.
Charleston Southern University quietly made history Tuesday night.
In Wisconsin, former CSU Buccaneer pitcher Tyler Thornburg made his major league debut, starting for the Milwaukee Brewers against the Toronto Blue Jays. He pitched into the sixth inning, kept the Brewers in the game and recorded his first major league hit.
This is the video our recruiting team showed this at the Student Leadership University conference in Orlando, Florida and AtlantaFest in Georgia.
You can follow their mission trip at CSUBlogs.com/china. We hope you will encourage our team by posting comments at the end of each journal entry.

Charleston Southern University kicked off “Body Image Week” Monday with special guest speaker Rachel Oliver tonight at 5:00 p.m. in the Gold Room. Oliver shed 161 pounds on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition last summer.
She inspired those in attendance to get healthy adding, “I am not done yet,” she told Good Morning America. “I am a work in progress. This is all about balance. That’s what I’m doing right now is finding that balance.”
At one point, Oliver weighed 399 pounds. She lost 30 pounds before the show and 161 more during her appearance on the show.
Charleston Southern’s “Body Image Week” continues all week. The schedule includes:
- Tuesday: Free health screenings and “Boot Camp”
- Wednesday: Zumba class
- Thursday: Kinesiology Club Boot Camp
